Plain-language policy for ForSale.direct. Last updated November 1, 2026.
When you create an account: your name, email, and a scrambled (hashed) form of your password — never the password itself. When you post a listing: the listing details you enter, including any phone number you choose to show on it. When you message a seller, claim a listing, or ask the FSBO Expert: your name, email, optional phone, and message.
We use it to run the site: show listings, deliver messages to sellers, process claims, answer questions, and keep your account signed in. A phone number appears on a listing only when the seller posted it there so buyers can reach them directly — that is the point of the site.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. As our FAQ says plainly: do we share your information with anyone? No.
One cookie keeps you signed in. That is all we use cookies for.
Ask us to delete your account and listings and we will. This site's data lives in its own small database.
